Dictation and answer feedback
Updated 10 October 2026
Understand the difference between writing a recording's words and creating your own text.
In dictation, you listen to a recording and write the words you hear in the same order. In free writing, you create your own sentences in response to a task. These are different activities: a summary can make sense without matching the words in a dictation.
What's available here
This site does not yet have published Brazilian Portuguese lessons or dictation activities. There is no dictation check to try here now. Check the catalog for current lesson availability.
How to use a dictation
When studying with a recording and its transcript, listen first and write what you can hear. Then compare the transcript with your text. Check whether you missed a word, changed the word order or wrote a word differently.
Accent marks are part of Portuguese spelling and can change a word's meaning. Check them when you review your writing.
Before interpreting a score
When an activity is available, read its instructions and correction criteria. Don't use another language's or another site's rules to assume how an answer will be checked here.
One activity result doesn't measure your overall Portuguese level. Use its feedback to decide what to review.
